A business coach gives us an outside perspective

When we’re in the thick of it in our business, we sometimes can’t see the forest for the trees. If you’ve ever bounced an idea or problem off of a friend, you’ll know that sometimes they can give you that perspective that you need. If you’ve been working on an idea for a while but you can’t just can’t seem to get anywhere with it, it may be time to look for a business coach.

A business coach can come in and get a handle on what your real problem is. Sometimes you don’t even realize that the problem you’re facing isn’t actually what you think it is. You might believe that there is something wrong with your marketing strategy, for example, when it really turns out that you need to establish a better target audience to improve your marketing efforts.

Bringing in a business coach can help you find these root problems. One of my favorite things about being a Business Growth Coach is when I’m working with a client or a podcast guest, and they get one of those lightbulb moments. It’s as if everything changes and suddenly that problem that seemed insurmountable is completely doable.

If you’re struggling with an obstacle in business and it feels like you’re getting nowhere with it, think about bringing in a coach – or at the very least, a trusted business friend – who can help you get an outside perspective on your problem. Seeing the bigger picture as opposed to just the little piece that you’re working on right now can completely change everything for you and your business.

A business coach gives us accountability

Sometimes one of the biggest problems with business growth is that we just don’t have the motivation to finish something. It could be the most important thing in the world to us, but it can also seem overwhelming, which in turn stops our motivation in its tracks. Having someone else step in and break down the big project that we’re working on into smaller, more easily manageable tasks can open up the doors to being able to finish that project.

If you have someone else checking in on you weekly or even just monthly you don’t want to disappoint them. You want to make them proud of you and show them that you can accomplish what you told him you were going to. A business coach is that accountability partner. When they check in on you, they can help you find new areas that you can improve, and the accountability gives you the motivation to finish what you start.

And let’s be honest: paying someone to keep you accountable can sometimes be even more motivating than if you’re just working with a friend. You don’t want to disappoint that friend, true, but often there’s not very much at stake in that relationship. They’re still going to love you even if you don’t finish this project. A good business coach will still to respect you and want to work with you even if you don’t complete your project, but if you’re paying them, the stakes will feel much higher. You want to get your money’s worth out of this relationship after all, right?

If you feel like you lack the motivation to finish a project or to get to the next level with your business, it may be time to get a business coach. Having that accountability can motivate you to heights you never imagined.

A business coach gives us a cheerleader

It can feel like the entire world is against us in business. Entrepreneurship is NOT easy. You may go to ask a simple question in a Facebook group and get lambasted by other entrepreneurs for no apparent reason. While the entrepreneurship community can be incredibly supportive, it can also be very demanding and unforgiving.

Having a business coach in your corner can give you that moral support that you need to get to the next level with your business. Your business coach will give you that outside perspective to create a plan, and give you the accountability to execute that plan and cheer you on the entire way. I love seeing a client take what we’ve worked on in a coaching session and come back to our next session glowing with excitement and raring to go. Even if they haven’t entirely accomplished everything to be slated for them to do between then and the next session, I’m still in their corner. As their business coach and friend, I still want them to succeed, and I’m going to cheer them on the whole way!

If your friends and family don’t understand your business, it can feel like you’re all alone. A business coach isn’t right there with you. They’ve been through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship; they understand what you’re going through. Having someone who understands when you complain about that client who just doesn’t get what’s going on can be enough to give you the motivation to continue.

If you feel alone or beaten down and you need someone in your corner, it may be time to get a business coach. We’re here for you and you’re not alone in your entrepreneurial journey.

A business coach can stimulate new ideas and help you corral the ones you already have

Maybe you’re looking for that next thing in this your business. Or maybe you have too many ideas and don’t know what to do with all of them. Honestly, having too many ideas can be just as difficult as having no ideas at all.

That idea train stops somewhere along the track for all of us. Whether it’s because it’s loaded down with too many ideas or because it doesn’t have enough ideas to fuel it and keep it going, it can feel just as derailing either way.  This is where having that outside perspective comes in handy, though!

A business coach can come in and help you find those ideas that you’ve been looking for, or help you wrangle the ones that you already have. Sometimes a brainstorming session with a coach is all you need to get those ideas flowing. And sometimes having someone else looking at all of your ideas can find the connections between them that you didn’t see before and help you create a plan to bring them to fruition.

If you’re struggling to come up with ideas or have too many and don’t know what to do with them, it may be time to find a business coach. You may just need a second brain to help you get all your ideas lined up and built into an action plan for business growth.
